Make your Book Club Kit reservation!

The Library is excited to offer a loaning option especially for book clubs! Borrow 8 to 12 copies of the same title to share with your group for up to 6 weeks. To make your reservation, visit the Library's KitKeeper reservation portal. KitKeeper allows you to place and manage Book Club Kit reservations online.

Making Reservations

  1. Visit the Library's KitKeeper portal. You will need a valid Ajax Public Library card.
  2. Browse Kits one of three ways: see all kits, search for a specific title, or see availability by date. 
  3. Once you've found the Kit you wish to borrow, you'll be prompted to choose your dates, enter your Library card number and PIN, contact information, and your preferred pick-up branch. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance!
  4. You should receive a confirmation email with the details of your Book Club Kit reservation, including your pick-up date and due date. 
  5. You'll receive another email when your Kit is ready for pick-up!

Cancelling Reservations

  1. Access the KitKeeper portal, and choose the "My Kits" link at the bottom.
  2. Enter your Library card number and PIN.
  3. You will see a list of your current reservations. To cancel one, select "Delete" on the Kit on which you wish to cancel the reservation. 
  4. If you need to cancel your reservation within 7 days of your scheduled pick-up date, please email or call our Collections Services Librarian.

Borrowing Book Club Kits

  1. Each item in a Kit (there may be a mix of regular print, Large Print, or audiobook copies) will be checked out to the Library cardholder who made the reservation. 
  2. Items are checked out for 6 weeks, and the cardholder is responsible for ensuring all items are returned. 
  3. When your Kit is ready for pick-up, please visit the Circulation Desk for assistance. Book Club Kits cannot be checked out at the self-serve kiosks. 
  4. Kits cannot be renewed. We ask that due dates are respected, to ensure we can meet future reservations. 

Returning Book Club Kits

  1. When your group is finished with the Kit, please return all items together, including the bag, Kit folder, and all copies listed on the Kit tag. 
  2. Please return Book Club Kits to any service desk at any Library branch. 
  3. Please do not return Book Club Kits via a drop box. 

Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Book Club Kits

  • The Library is committed to being fine-free for all overdue items. 
  • Fines are only applied for items that are lost or damaged, which includes the Book Club Kit's bag and folder. Costs for replacement items vary based on the individual item/title price.
  • The borrower is responsible for ensuring all materials in the Book Club Kit are kept in good condition and returned on time.
