Programs designed for and occurring during the TD Summer Reading Club

Tween Tech: Beginner Tinkercad

Appropriate for ages 10–14.
Hosted at Main Branch.
Advanced registration required.

Tinkercad is like a digital version of building with blocks, but instead of physical blocks, you use shapes on a computer screen to create 3D objects. If you think you may want to save your Tinkercad projects, please create an account at tinkercad.com. This can also be done at the beginning of the workshop.

Tween Tech: 3D Pens

Appropriate for ages 10–14.
Hosted at Audley Branch.
Advanced registration required.

Ever dream about doing 3D printing without a 3D printer? Introducing the 3D pen! 3D pens have the ability to “draw” in mid-air, allowing you to instantly form 3D structures right in front of you, which you can pick up and hold in your hand. Whatever you can imagine, you can draw.

Tween Tech: Ozobots

Appropriate for ages 10–14.
Hosted at Audley Branch.
Advanced registration required.

The robots are coming! The robots are coming! Not the big ones…the tiny ones! Ozobots can identify lines, colours, and codes on both digital surfaces, such as an iPad, and physical surfaces, such as paper. Are you ready to meet (and program) “the world’s tiniest robot”?
